1. Who we are
NIVORA TRADING LIMITED (company number NI739231), registered at Enterprise House 55-59 Adelaide Street, Belfast, Northern Ireland, BT2 8FE, trades as Nivora Trading and is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
We sell smart home devices online and deliver them across the United Kingdom. This policy is written under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. For any question about it, write to [email protected].
2. Data we collect
We collect only what an online order and its aftermath require:
- Identity and contact data: your name, email address and telephone number.
- Delivery and billing addresses.
- Order data: the items you bought, order contents and order history, delivery status and tracking updates.
- Support data: the messages you send us, along with returns, warranty claims and their outcome.
- Marketing data: your consent to receive emails from us and whether you have withdrawn it.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, and pages viewed on this website.
We do not collect special category data, and we ask you not to send it to us in support messages.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Performing our contract with you: processing and delivering orders, handling returns and warranty claims, and answering questions about an order you have placed.
- Consent: sending marketing emails, and setting non-essential cookies where you have agreed to them.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the website secure and working, preventing fraud and abuse, understanding in aggregate how the catalogue is used, and improving the service we offer. We balance these interests against your rights and stop where yours prevail.
- Legal obligation: keeping accounting and tax records, and meeting consumer law duties on receipts, cancellations and returns.
4. Payments
We do not store or process card details. Payment is taken directly by a third-party payment provider on their own infrastructure, and your card number, expiry date and security code are never transmitted to us. We receive only the result of the payment, such as whether it succeeded and a reference for the transaction, which we need to fulfil your order.
5. Marketing emails
We send marketing emails only if you have opted in. Every message contains a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect without you having to explain why. You can also ask us to stop at any time by writing to [email protected]. Stopping marketing does not stop the operational emails we must send about an order you have placed, such as confirmations and delivery updates.
7. International transfers
Some of our providers operate outside the United Kingdom. Where personal data is transferred abroad, we rely on UK adequacy regulations, or on the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with any additional safeguards the transfer requires. You can ask us which mechanism applies to a particular provider.
8. How long we keep data
We keep order and transaction records for as long as accounting and tax law requires. Support correspondence, returns and warranty records are kept while a claim may still arise and for a reasonable period afterwards. Marketing data is kept until you withdraw consent, after which we keep a minimal record of your objection so that we do not contact you again. Technical and analytics data is kept for a short period and then deleted or aggregated.
9. Security
We use encrypted connections, access controls, limited administrative accounts and regular updates to protect personal data, and we restrict access to staff and providers who need it for their work. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, but if a breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to your rights, we will notify the regulator and, where required, you.
11. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it.
- Have inaccurate data rectified and incomplete data completed.
- Ask for erasure of your data where the law allows it.
- Ask us to restrict processing while a concern is being resolved.
- Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format, or have it sent to another controller.
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on it.
To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]. We reply within one month and may ask you to confirm your identity first. Exercising your rights is free of charge.
12. Withdrawing consent
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time — through the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, through your browser settings for cookies, or by writing to us. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew.
13. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.
14. Age restriction
This website and our shop are intended for customers aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
15. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our processing changes or the law does. The current version always sits on this page, with the date of the last change at the top. If a change materially affects you, we will make it clear on the website or by email.
